Cameron Miranda-Radbord for VP Engagement

Hi, I'm Cameron.

I grew up with the best two moms in the world. But because they were lesbians, only one of them was legally recognized as my parent. As a child, I felt ashamed. Why was my loving, happy family different treated differently than anyone else's?

Then, in 2016, the Ontario Liberal government passed the All Families are Equal Act, recognizing same-sex parents as equal under the law for the first time. Watching our caucus defend the Bill in at Queen's Park as a legislative page, I knew I was a Liberal.

After all, that's what the Ontario Liberal Party is about - supporting every Ontarian for who they are. I am so proud to be a part of our movement.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked at Queen's Park, helping a caucus member's office make thousands of calls to residents to help them find medical care.

In 2022, I took on Doug Ford in his home riding of Etobicoke North, one of the most diverse communities in Ontario, as our incredible candidate Julie Lutete's Campaign Manager. Later that year, I put my name forward to be Toronto's  first openly gay Catholic School Board Trustee, earning endorsements from both Catholic teachers' unions and the Toronto Labour Council.

I'm now grateful to serve as Ontario Liberal Party's 2SLGBTQ+ Engagement Coordinator and President of the University of Toronto Provincial Young Liberals, one of the largest Young Liberal clubs in the province.

Outside of partisan politics, I work as a Senior Advisor at Toronto City Hall and am entering my fourth year at UofT, where I represent students on all three campuses on Governing Council.

I'm ready to do the hard work necessary to help beat Doug Ford, whenever the next election is called.

I'm starting the work I'll do listening to Ontario Liberals as Vice President now. I want to hear from you. If you have an idea, or a question, or a story about how we can engage Ontarians better, let’s chat.
